RFID - the new generation AUTO-ID solution
To choose the right technology for your required RFID/WSN and RTLS applications is always not easy.
Some organization choose the technolgoy based on operating frequency, read range or standards.
But for more and more complicated applications it seems not good enough.
We simply suggest you to use transmission data and standards for choosing right technology:
UID and text data
Except to use UID/TID for your RFID application you can also to add tag data function for further applications.
In the current market the memory size of tag data is from 96 bits to 32K bytes.
More detailed description of common RFID standards listed below :
- ISO 11784/11785 :using 134.2KHz for Livestock ,SemiConductor industries and so on.
- ISO 14443 , ISO 15693 & NFC :using 13.56MHz in Smart Ticket,library and WIP tracking
applications. - ISO 18000-7 :using 433MHz in People tracking and safety active RFID applications.
- ISO 18000-6C(EPC Gen 2) :using 860~960MHz for Retail,Logistics and Transportation industries.
Sensor
For wireless transmit the temerature and any other sensor data you need to use WSN or Smart Energy solutions.
More detailed description of common WSN technology listed below :
- ISO 18000-6C(EPC Gen2) :using 860~960MHz semi-active RFID Sensor tag for Cold Chain applications.
- 802.11g :using 2.45 GHz Wi-Fi Sensor tag for healthcare applications.
- 802.15.4 :using 2.45 GHz ZigBee Sensor for diversified WSN and smart energy applications.
Location
More detailed description of common RTLS technology listed below :
